BoyleSports Experiences - Ratings and Reviews

#13 of 15 Sports Betting

BoyleSports is the largest independent bookmaker in the Republic of Ireland. It was founded by John Boyle in 1989 and now there are more than 200 BoyleSports betting shops in the country as well as phone, mobile and internet betting in Ireland, the UK and other countries. Its aim is to provide better value and a better customer experience than any other Irish bookie with each of the 1,700 employees trained to the highest standard. BoyleSports says it has invested heavily in its website and mobile versions to make it fast and easy for customers to use. Certainly our BoyleSports reviews of the app show it has been money well spent.

Gamblers can bet on many sports, such as horse-racing, football, greyhounds, tennis, golf and cricket as well as bingo and casino games. You can bet in the shops, on the website or via the mobile apps. BoyleSports has raised the bar when it comes to live in-play betting by offering tens of thousands of in-play bets each day. Another plus for BoyleSports is its loyalty rewards programme so customers can enjoy exclusive rewards for sticking with BoyleSports. BoyleSports is regulated by the Gambling Commission for UK customers and by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner for all other clients.

Website & Usability

01 Website & Usability

Busy website but still easy to follow

The BoyleSports website is clearly signposted so you can head straight to the sport you wish to bet on. It does look a lot busier than other leading brands but it has a lot of information to offer. At first glance, you can immediately see how to sign up, games which are live at the moment, hot events like Hero World Challenge, betting news and the BoyleSports Live Chat button. There is a slideshow of promotions to encourage you to sign up too, which makes far better use of the space than one static image.

Down the side is the index of sports and markets on offer with Promotions, In-play, horse racing, Premier League and Greyhounds sitting on the top - you know these are the priorities. This is followed by an A-Z of sports with a drop-down menu telling you which matches and leagues are offered under each category. The site is quick to navigate, easy to click through and simple to follow. However, when you click on some categories you are taken to a new window, others to a new tab and the majority to a new page. This can be a bit confusing if you are trying to keep track of what you have opened, so we would suggest that they streamline this in future.

Overall the website does look a little overwhelming with so much information on the page. We can understand that BoyleSports want to let you know about all that is going on but a few minor design changes could make it look more inviting. Its main rival Paddy Power has a much simpler design which makes it look more attractive. You can read about the best online sports betting site in our review.

02 Betting Offers

Variety of markets, not just sports betting

BoyleSports covers a good range of sports such as American football, cricket, GAA football, GAA hurling and table tennis as well as bets on politics, TV and entertainment. You can also bet on different lotteries around the world or on the financial markets, which is an unusual feature on a sports betting site. Horse racing and football have their own section so you can easily head to these top two sports to see the upcoming games, televised games and look at the results. You can also click on the BoyleSports radio button to listen to commentaries on racing and football, which helps with in-play betting. Also for racing there is the Bet & Watch video streaming if you place a minimum bet of £1 on that particular race. Selected football matches are also available for streaming on BoyleSports too.
The statistics for each game are well designed and easy to follow with information on the teams head-to-head, league position, current form, strength at home and away plus wins from behind. The stats are impressive for the games plus BoyleSports has information from the Betting News articles plus Stan Collymore's thoughts on football. This means you don't have to search for stats and news – it's all there on the BoyleSports site.

Huge range of leagues on offer

Certainly during our BoyleSports reviews of the sports, we're impressed with the number of leagues on offer, particularly for football and racing. Other websites, such as William Hill, have a greater range of bets but BoyleSports covers the most popular markets such as first or last goalscorer, both teams to score, match handicap, correct score and total number of corners or bookings.

BoyleSports also prides itself on having the biggest range of in-play sports and you can head straight for the In-Play section to see what they are. With so many markets and sports covered coupled with the detailed news and statistics, our BoyleSports rating is very good for this category as far as sports betting comparisons go.

Bonus

03 Bonus

£20 of free bets for New Customers

New customers can get a BoyleSports bonus of £20 in free bets when they sign up and place a qualifying bet at odds of at least evens (2.0) of £10 or more. You will then be given 4 x £5 free bets. This is not a bad free offer and it isn’t complicated to qualify for. You don't need a BoyleSports promo code either. The first free bet is offered within six hours of the settlement of the qualifying bet. Each token after this is applied the day after you use your previous free bets. The free bets expire within seven days and you won't get the stake back with any wins. If you are depositing with Neteller or Moneybookers, you won't get this promotion.

We actually like the idea of getting four smaller free bets rather than having to bet £20 in one go as there are more chances to win. It also keeps you on the BoyleSports site which is a great marketing ploy. Other bookies do offer more cash - the Ladbrokes bonus for example is up to £50 in free bets, so it’s worth shopping around.

Good Deals for existing customers too

BoyleSports offers some interesting promotions to existing customers including its popular crossbar challenge where losing bets are refunded if someone hits the crossbar in selected games. That’s going to keep you on the edge of your seat! Your bet will also be refunded if one leg loses on a 5+ accumulator in football or double winnings as a free bet if both teams score in all games in a winning 5+ acca.

Racing followers can also have their money back as a free bet if their horse loses by a head in selected races. You can also have your money back as a free bet if your horse doesn't start and BoyleSports offer best price guaranteed on all UK and Irish meetings.

The BoyleSports sign up bonus for new customers and promotions for existing BoyleSports customers are an incentive to stick with the bookmaker.

Odds & Limits

icon

04 Odds & Limits

Good odds and industry standard payout limits

BoyleSports odds are on par with the leading brands with little to differentiate between them. Likewise the maximum daily payouts compare favourably with the competition with a maximum of £500,000 for Class 1 and 2 UK races and football. It pays to use the BoyleSports bet calculator to see if your winnings will take you over the limit. Obviously these limits are not going to affect most gamblers but are simply set to avoid syndicates trying to use the service. We feel that the average payout of 93% is fair, too.

You can bet using fractional, decimal or American odds with the minimum and maximum stakes varying for each sport. If you want to put on an unusual bet or stake, it probably pays to get in touch with BoyleSports to see if it is acceptable and at what odds. Obviously the maximum daily payout will affect your stakes and BoyleSports has an automatic risk control management system that will decline your stake if it is too high.

Fon-A-Bet service available 24/7

If you can't find a price online you can get a quote from the Fon-a-Bet service available 24-7, 364 days a year, whose operators will place your bet for you. Just phone 1800 44 00 00 (ROI) or 0800 44 00 00 (UK),give the operator your details and register. Place your bet and listen to live commentary and results. Overall the quality of the odds and range of limits is good at BoyleSports.

Customer Service

05 Customer Service

Good BoyleSports customer service, including live chat

BoyleSports live chat is prominent on the site, with help available 24/7. The chat messages are replied to quickly and professionally. Many queries can be answered by clicking Services and Help Centre which has various sections such as betting and customer security as well as Popular FAQ, which covers many queries.

You can also phone BoyleSports Customer Service (1800 22 00 66 (ROI), 0800 22 00 66 (UK) or +353 42 939 3168 (rest of the world)).

You can raise or view your support tickets using your BoyleSports login, send an email via the website or ask a question via the BoyleSports Twitter account @boylesports. With emails you will get a confirmation email with a promise to respond within 24 hours.

For our BoyleSports sports betting reviews we found it easy to get in touch with BoyleSports customer service with our queries about betting and live streaming being answered instantly. As well as LiveChat, in the useful links section at the bottom of the page are the Help Centre, Contact Us and FAQs. Overall we were impressed!

06 Payments

Great Payment variety available

The BoyleSports deposit and withdrawal methods are extensive. The site accepts many payment methods including Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Delta, Skrill, PayPal, Neteller, Paysafe, Euteller, Instadebit, Giropay, Sofort Banking, eKonto, Trustly, boku, bank transfer or even a cheque (although a transfer can take up to five days). You can also deposit cash in any BoyleSports shops in the Republic of Ireland. Minimum deposit is £10 and you can set your own maximum. Withdrawals can take from three to eight days or three weeks for a cheque. BoyleSports do not charge for either deposits or withdrawals. You will also need to verify your account when you sign up as additional security and to prevent fraud.

These payment methods cover all eventualities, although restrictions will apply in some countries. It's also great that Irish customers can make deposits in the shops so they have instant cash available. There are no charges although you may incur charges for transfers through your bank.

BoyleSports has a wider range of payment methods than some of its rivals, such as William Hill, as they have stopped using some e-wallet systems so this independent bookmaker beats some of the better-known brands in our BoyleSports ratings for payments.

Security and Licensing

icon

07 Security and Licensing

Well deserved gambling license

As BoyleSports is licensed by the Gambling Commission and the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner, you can be confident it is as safe and secure as possible. Your money is kept in a separate account to the company accounts as required by the commission. It also translates any text you provide, such as credit or debit card numbers and passwords, into encrypted code for increased security plus the latest firewall technology is installed. Anti-fraud checks are also in place at BoyleSports for all deposits and withdrawals.

All new customers have to verify their details so BoyleSports can be sure that they are not under-age. There is also advice for users to install internet filtering softwares such as NetNanny or CyberPatrol to prevent gambling websites being available to under-age players.

BoyleSports commitment to responsible gambling

If anyone has a problem with gambling, there are links on the website to GamCare and GambleAware to get confidential advice and guidance.

All the right measures are in place to make the website as safe and secure for users while protecting under-age gambling.

Mobile Application

icon

08 Mobile Application

Betting app that is better than the main site

The BoyleSports betting app is much simpler to follow than the main website. It is clear to see the top bets, in-play and next races. From the website you can click on a link to download the app. You can download direct from the App store or give your mobile phone details so BoyleSports can text you a link to download the app.

We enjoy using the BoyleSports app and consider it to be one of the top sports betting apps. You get daily promotions, one-touch betting, real-time stats to help with in-play, live streaming on every UK and Irish horse race plus exclusive mobile promotions for the biggest events such as the Grand National, Champions League and Premier League. You can also deposit and withdraw money on the BoyleSports betting app so there is no need to find a computer if you’re on the go!

Download the android app direct from BoyleSports

The BoyleSports betting app is a great, simple to use and straightforward. You can download it from App store but, because Google does not allow gambling apps on their store, you need to download it directly from BoyleSports for your Android phone.
