Bingo is big business with more than three million people regularly playing bingo in the UK. The camaraderie of the bingo hall along with the lucrative prizes are major draws. It's fun to play and surprisingly fast so you need to be on your toes as you tick off those numbers.

Sky Bingo is one of the best-known online providers although Gala Bingo and Mecca Bingo are the biggest brands because they are so familiar from their high street presence. We will be looking at how Sky shapes up in our Sky Bingo review along with a Sky Bingo rating for its website, security, games, bonuses and Sky Bingo app.

Sky Bingo is part of the Leeds-based Sky Betting & Gaming stable which also owns SkyBet,and SkyPoker along with odds comparison website Oddschecker. At Sky Bingo you can play online, connect with fellow players, or join the online chat with fellow players from around the country.

Website & Usability

01 Website & Usability

Eye-catching website

Fans of the colour purple will love the look of the Sky Bingo website. Purple is the dominant colour for the logo and tabs while pink features prominently too. It looks simple but effective with tabs for playing bingo, different games, promotions, help and support, and feedback, which is an interesting addition. You can leave positive feedback about something you liked or anything you think could be improved along with technical issues. We think this is a great feature as you can have your input into the website and its games.

There's also a large slideshow with promotions and special games followed by upcoming bingo games, how long until each one starts and the number of players. The Sky Bingo website is very clear, without any distractions and is strictly about bingo and slots.

It's easy to sign up to Sky Bingo or use your Sky Bingo login and then pick the games you want to play. If you don't fancy joining any of the bingo games, then there are more than 100 slots and over 20 scratchcards to play as well.

High standard of software and adaptability

You can download the Sky Bingo app so you can play from anywhere. Also any technical issues are dealt with. For instance if you lose connection to a bingo game, as long as you have confirmed your ticket purchase then you will be in the game. Sky Bingo marks your card and credits any winnings even if you cannot get online. To play properly you'll need the latest version of Adobe Flash player installed and need Windows Intel Pentium III 700MHz or faster along with 256mb RAM or higher. It's also advisable not to run other Flash programmes while you are playing bingo or download other files like music or videos at the same time which could slow down your computer. You can also adjust the site to increase the size of the text or make the layout more simplified, turn off animated images or have a black page background which may be useful for people with limited vision or conditions such as epilepsy or dyslexia.

During our Sky Bingo review, we didn't experience any problems and found it easy to play the best online bingo games, play along and try some of the slots between games. Sky Bingo has plenty of variety in its games so you can wile away the hours on the website, so for entertainment value and ease of use, our Sky Bet rating for the website is high - it is one of the top bingo sites for online gaming, along with Mecca Bingo.

Bingo Offer

02 Bingo Offer

Plenty to keep you occupied at Sky Bingo

Sky Bingo runs on the Virtue Fusion network, used by many other large operators, and is a division of Gaming Technology Solutions Ltd. Other top rated companies using Virtue Fusion bingo solutions include Mecca and Gala, two of the best bingo sites out there. Bingo games at Sky Bingo vary with various themes from the luck of the Irish through to television programmes like Deal Or No Deal. There are also some Sky exclusive offers such as Mystical Bingo, which can only be played at Sky, with house prizes up to £100 along with a progressive jackpot. You can watch the clock count down to the start of the game plus see how many people are signed up to play. You need to buy a ticket up to 10 seconds before the game starts. The numbers can be from one to 75, 80 or 90. Depending on the game you need to be the first to mark: a number of lines; all four corners for 80 ball bingo; four middle squares for 80 ball bingo; a preset pattern for 75 ball pattern bingo; or be the first to get a house (all the numbers on your ticket).

Sky Bingo reviews of the slots appreciate the wide range of themes from traditional fruit machines through to ancient Greece, the circus, lucky Irish, and television programmes like The X Factor Judges' Jackpot. The links to every slot have information available about the amount you can stake, whether there is a jackpot, any bonus rounds, how many reels and how many lines.
With Playtech being behind the games, plus exclusive Sky games, mouth-watering prizes and the scope of bingo games and slots on offer, we can't fault Sky Bingo for its gaming offer.

Positive Sky Bingo reviews for the sign up bonus

The Sky Bingo sign up bonus is in two parts. Just create an account and within 14 days log in to the Bingo lobby and register your chat name. As soon as your account is set up and your chat name is registered, you will be credited a £10 Bingo Bonus to use in any of the bingo rooms. On your second day as a Sky Bingo player, you will be given a £10 All Games Bonus to use in any of the side games. When you register, you will be asked to put in any Sky Bingo bonus codes that you may have.

We are impressed that you don't have to make a deposit or spend money in order to get this bonus. It is a lovely way to feel your way around Sky Bingo and its different games.
The second offer is for a £30 Bingo Bonus to spend in any of the Bingo rooms when you deposit and spend £10 on Bingo tickets.
The £10 Bingo Bonus has to be turned over twice before you can cash in any winnings while the £10 All Games Bonus has to be turned over 10 times before winnings can be cashed in. For even more details, check out our detailed review of the Sky Bingo Bonus, and our Bingo Bonus Comparison.

Stakes and Odds

04 Stakes and Odds

Good limits and high transparency

The limits vary from one bingo game to another, with ticket prices starting at just 1p. SkyBingo imposes limits on the number of tickets that a person can buy for each game. Most games have a maximum limit of £5 or £10, but others, such as Arctic Adventure, offer limits of £200. We like the huge variety on offer, as it appeals to players at all levels, from micro-stakes to high rollers. Jackpots are clearly displayed with a banner across the game's graphic on the homepage.

Also, for those of you interested in the other Sky- products, be aware that SkyBet generally allows for maximum winnings of up to £500,000 in any one calendar day, except for progressive slots or where specifically advertised. This is not going to affect most players but big hitters could be affected.
All the information about stakes, table levels and RTP levels is available on the website along with stakes and jackpots. It's easy to find and so our rating is very good for this section.

Customer Service

05 Customer Service

Great customer service as expected from Sky

Sky Bingo has a long list of frequently asked questions which cover most subjects by clicking the Help & Support link at the top of the page. If you still wish to get in touch, you can contact the Sky Bingo customer service by phone 0330 024 4777 between 8am and midnight every day, via the Sky Bingo live chat or by sending an email - you can add a file to this if you wish.

To be fair, the Sky Bingo FAQ will be all most people need but occasionally there may be a specific issue which needs the personal touch. The best place to try first is the Sky Bingo live chat for an instant response. For the purposes of our Sky Bingo review, we asked a couple of questions which were answered promptly and professionally. We felt confident with the service and the replies received. You could also head for the Sky Bingo lobby to chat with fellow players or the chat hosts.

Getting in touch with Sky Bingo is fast and simple with the contact details available within a couple of clicks from the home page. A freephone number would be useful but most people get free calls so, again, this is not a major issue.

06 Payment

Solid variety of payment methods available

You can use Visa Credit, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro, Solo and PayPal to deposit or withdraw money. You can easily put money into your Sky Bingo account by clicking on My Account, clicking the Deposit or Banking tab and entering the details. You can even make Sky Bingo deposits via mobile by signing in with your user ID and PIN and then clicking on your balance. Select Deposit from the My Account menu and follow the instructions. There's no charge although some banks may apply a fee if they class Bingo deposits as a cash transaction. The funds are ready to play with as soon as your bank authorises the amount.

Withdrawals can be made to send funds back to your registered payment method. It will take between two to five days for bank transactions or within the day if you use an e-wallet like PayPal. Again, it is simple to do. Either click on Withdraw Funds on the left side of the page or go to My Account. Some cards, such as international MasterCard and Visa issued in a restricted country will not accept funds, so you'll need to let Sky Bingo know and then you can arrange for the money to go into your bank account. To prevent fraud, Sky Bingo may ask for documentary evidence for bank transfers to be made.

The Sky Bingo minimum withdrawal amount is £10 but there is no restriction on the maximum that can be withdrawn in a day. The payment procedure is straightforward and very simple to use. If players find problems or withdrawals do not show up in their account, they can contact Sky Bingo. All major cards and e-wallets are accepted so we can't see that players will have any difficulty in setting up a Sky Bingo account. All in all, Sky Bingo stacks up well against the other top providers in our Bingo Comparison.

Security and Licensing

07 Security and Licensing

You’re in good hands with Sky Bingo

As clearly shown on the website, Sky Bingo is licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission for UK customers and by the AGCC for everyone else. This means it adheres to strict guidelines regarding finances, with customers' money being kept in a separate account and also has advice on gambling responsible as well as checking that customers are 18 or over.
Sky Bingo is part-owned by Sky plc which is listed on the Stock Exchange and CVC Capital Partners, a top private equity and investment advisory firm. The backing of these two global players gives gravitas to Sky Bingo because you are dealing with such reputable companies. Also Sky Bingo reviews its IT and systems regularly so it is using cutting-edge technology and security features.

Sky Bingo bingo reviews of the security reveals there are top measures in place to keep customers' finances safe and personal information secure. It offers helpful advice to players who feel they are gambling too much and protects young people from trying to join up. We feel Sky Bingo has everything in check to protect its customers so we give it a top rating, although we would expect nothing less from a member of the same organisation as SkyBet.

Mobile Application

08 Mobile Application

Playing Sky Bingo on your mobile

You can fire up Sky Bingo for your phone or tablet to play wherever you are by downloading the app for iPhone and iPad as well as the Android app. Because of Google Play restrictions on gambling for money, it isn't in the Play Store but can be downloaded from the main site. You'll need to make sure location services is enabled which is to make sure you are playing from one of Sky's permitting countries - United Kingdom; Ireland, Gibraltar; and the Channel Islands. The Sky Bingo app will be updated automatically so you needn't worry about getting hold of the latest version.

At the moment Touch ID and Quick PIN don't work on the Sky Bingo mobile app, but look out for them being rolled out in v2.0 over the next few months.
The website is clear and uncluttered, which means the Sky Bingo mobile version is too, so you can scroll through to find your games to play. You can even top up funds into your account from your mobile, so it really is just as good as the version on your computer.
Sky Bingo bingo reviews of the apps have found that they are very good but, of course, you'll need a good wifi signal to make the most of your gaming. We like the look of the mobile version and are just as happy to play bingo on our phone as on the laptop.
